The Annual Bowls Tournament held at Braintree Bowling Club on 12th September was supported by a record attendance comprising 12 teams for the Keith Davies Memorial Shield.
The teams competed in 2 groups of 6 in a round robin with the winners of each group playing in a final. Keenly contested as always in great sunny weather apart from a 5 minute drizzle, the eventual winners by a very tight margin was Team Costello who overcame Team Archer in a close match. The real winners though is the TTBS with a figure of £680 raised for the Charity. Thanks go to Treasurer Dave Francis who not only took the money but managed to play as well. Thanks also to Committee members Sharon Cushen, Jim Chambers and the indominatable Jackie Cowley who all helped to manage the engine room.
