Keith Davies Memorial Shield Tournament
The London and South East, including East Anglia, TTBS region held its annual fundraising bowls tournament for the Keith Davies Memorial Shield at Braintree Bowls Club on the 10 September, 2026.
The event was keenly contested, with nine teams taking part, including teams from Braintree and visitors from Boxford Bowls Club. Over nine rounds, the competition went right down to the wire between Team Archer (Braintree), last year’s winners and the Boxford Eagles.
Team Archer needed only a win or a draw to retain the trophy, but Boxford Eagles held their nerve and came through as winners, securing a 5–2 victory.
Boxford Eagles were led by Graham Skillen, a retired Purchasing Manager of Ridgeons Timber, a long-serving supporter of the Society and a previous winner of the competition.
The 36 bowlers were fortunate to enjoy excellent weather, with plenty of sunshine adding to a thoroughly enjoyable day.
The event raised an impressive £622 for TTBS funds.
Grateful thanks go to Sharon Cushen, Jim Chambers and the indomitable Jackie Cowley, whose invaluable help ensured that the workload for the President ran very smoothly.
