A Day of Networking, Laughter, and Generosity
The NWTTBS Christmas Lunch, held on December 4th, 2024, at the Delta by Marriott Hotel in Liverpool. Over 130 attendees gathered for an unforgettable afternoon of networking, festive cheer, and heartfelt support for a great cause.
The day began with a warm welcome. Guests were treated to delicious food and drinks flowing freely, providing the perfect backdrop for connecting with old friends and making new professional contacts. As the room buzzed with conversation.
Adding to the festive fun was the very funny and talented comedian Danny Posthill, who had the entire room in stitches. His comedy, filled with sharp wit and hilarious impressions, brought laughter and joy to all, reinforcing the day’s light-hearted and positive mood. (sponsored on the day by Zedfix Ltd)
While the laughter was infectious, the heart of the event was the important work done by the TTBS. Despite some sound challenges, the TTBS was undeterred in spreading their vital message of support. Guests were introduced to their new reel, highlighting the invaluable work of “Your Timber Charity,” which provides assistance to timber colleagues in need. TTBS also shared exciting news about their 2024 collaborations with the BHSF, who offer independent financial advice and also mental health support, alongside plans for even more impactful work with the construction industries, Lighthouse Charity in 2025.
A standout feature of the event was the impressive raffle, with prizes generously donated by, Brinor Int’l, Kanusa Ltd, Barnswell Timber and EA Stephens. The raffle prizes were plentiful, offering guests the chance to win exciting rewards while supporting TTBS’s crucial work.
The highlight of the afternoon came during the live auction, expertly hosted by Barb, who auctioned off two exclusive Liverpool hospitality experiences, donated by Trade Fabrications Systems Ltd. The auction was a resounding success, with spirited bidding contributing to the day’s fundraising total. In total, the event raised an incredible £4,600, all of which will go directly toward supporting timber industry colleagues in need, ensuring that TTBS can continue its vital mission of care and support within the timber community.
